"Fishing Direct NZ" began operating in 2006 under the name "Silverdale Bait and Tackle" our first shop was in an industrial area where we also manufactured fishing and kayak gear under our brand "Tagit Serious Fishing Gear".   With the support of great local customers living in this fantastic coastal area of Orewa and Whangaparaoa, which borders the incredible fishing grounds of the Hauraki Gulf we have continued to grow our business and in 2008 we moved to Silverdale main street to expand our retail store.

Fishing Direct NZ as an online store started in 2007 as a way to sell our niche "Tagit" NZ made products direct to customers who lived in more remote areas and weren't able to visit their local Kayak store who stocked Tagit.  From this online presence we saw there was a lack of independent trustworthy online stores selling all the main international fishing brands such as Shimano, Penn, Diawa, Berkley, Gamakatsu, Abu Garcia, Diawa and the popular NZ made brands like Black Magic Tackle, Nacsan, Predator and Seahorse Electric Kontiki’s etc…so we have added the stock we sell in our shop

Customers satisfaction is very important to us, we aim to offer the friendliest and most professional service and advice, so that we can be assured that each person who shops with Fishing Direct NZ makes the right purchase to suit their needs and wants to return to our store in the future.  We stock the latest new products, brands and give advice on how to use them effectively,  we also like to know what is working well for our local fishermen and from this feedback and our own product testing we will make sure the best products are stocked in our store to ensure your success next time you are out fishing using products bought from Fishing Direct NZ..
